Womens Center and LGBTQ+ Hub ๐ŸŽƒ Join us on Monday, October 31st for Representations of Abortion: Horrors and Hauntings - A Halloween Screening of the first two episodes of Mononoke: "Zakishi-warashi". ๐ŸŽƒ

After the screening, we will have a discussion of how abortion is represented in popular culture and across cultures, how that representation shapes and is shaped by society, and how horror media engages with the sociopolitical.

This week, in partnership with the LGBTQ+ Center at City College and The Graduate School of Public Health and Health Services, LaGuardiaโ€™s Women Center and LGBTQIA Safe Zone Hub will be hosting a Transgender Day of Remembrance Vigil on Friday, November 19th at 2:30 PM. Transgender Day of Remembrance is an annual event to honor the memories of the transgender people whose lives were lost as a result of anti-transgender bigotry and violence. Join us to honor the lives lost over the past year, learn more about the challenges the transgender community faces in everyday life, and share recourses available to the LGBTQ community. 101 years ago, the womenโ€™s suffrage movement achieved the ratification of the 19th Amendment, but securing the right to vote for many Black women and other women of color did not happen in 1920.

Weโ€™ll keep fighting for everyoneโ€™s right to the ballot.
