The sun was shining, the laughter of children filled the air, and GUG I Elementary School was the place to be this afternoon.
New and returning families spent the afternoon at the Summer Social, enjoying pizza, playing fun games, getting creative with arts and crafts, having fun on the bouncy slide, and cooling off with ice cream.
A big thank you to our operations team for organizing the event, our facilities team for making sure everything was ready for a fun day of play, and our school leadership team and teachers for their time, support, and hard work throughout the day. And of course, thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate with us! 💚☀️
This summer, Growing Up Green I Elementary students participated in a robotics and STEM experience in partnership with The Community Bots.
Students learned how to build and program robots, explored LEGO Mindstorms software, programmed sensors, and completed robotics challenges that strengthened their problem-solving and engineering skills. They also learned about STEM careers through a Women in STEM panel, robotics company presentations, and conversations about the roles of scientists and engineers.
Congratulations to the students for completing this exciting STEM experience! A special thank you to Community Bots for partnering with us and inspiring the next generation of innovators. 🤖
