William Harville — Junior, Company C-2, Texas A&M Corps of Cadets. He wanted an “Aggie Bear” so I made it happen! The question is, “How long before someone gets hurt from that bear?”

When I looked at this photo’s sender's name on my iPhone, I knew nothing good would come out of it. Poor Little Texas Aggie Bear. Kidnapped by an evil alumnus of C. Battery, Aggie Band.

I knew that what arrived in this box could quite possibly encompass my doom! To be safe, I had Little Texas Aggie Infantry Bear establish an observation position. He’s been with me since 1980, so I know he can be trusted. We spent our first four active duty years at White Sands Missile Range and he never let an alien get to me. Also, he kept the secret about Stanley Kubrick filming the fake moon landings there for NASA!

Infantry Bear, who has actually been with me longer than Alamo Basement Texas Aggie Ring, asked me to bring him a field phone [Army Telephone Set TA-312/PT]. When I asked why, he replied, “If it comes down to it, I’ll call for artillery fire on my position. I’ll have the Artillery Battery “Fire for Effect!”

Remember, when you choose your first Texas Aggie Bear, choose wisely. Aggie Infantry Bear has been serving with me forty-six year now!

Sometimes, when I’m lazy, I put my camera in “automatic” mode and things often don’t turn out how I want them.

Little Texas Aggie Supermodel Bunny Fur Bear is my model for this demonstration. I placed him on a handprinted antique table my mother painted and placed it in front of the blinds that the setting sun is shining directly onto from my back yard.

The camera automatically set an exposure for the blinds, but look at the poor little Texas Aggie Bear. One can’t see the exuberant expression on his face because it is underexposed.

I attached a flash unit on the camera and manually set a flash exposure value that would not make the blinds look like an overexposed wall of light and would properly expose the little bear’s face and paws.

Notice how the natural color variations of the rabbit fur are properly exposed. I could probably have improved the photo by moving the flash off camera, but I was loosing the sun as it set.

When this Aggie Bear recently arrived, Alamo Basement Fightin’ Texas Aggie Ring looked at the bears table. He sighed and said, “The tag says this bear was made with rabbit fur from China from a rabbit farm. I wonder which is worse, being sold to be sold for meat in a wet market or being sacrificed for your fur to make an Aggie Bear.”

Note: Little Texas Aggie Bunny Bear is not made from just one rabbit. He’s made from about three. Just like Frankenbear!

The Evil C. Company Aggie Band junior who I sponsor ($$$) has “taken” Little Texas Aggie Bear. According to GPS data, they’re at the pyramidion (observation deck) of the Bass Pro Pyramid Shop in Memphis, Tennessee.

I don’t mind the little bear being around guns and fishing poles. However, the Aggie Band junior whose Aggie Boots I payed for would have driven through Louisiana and Mississippi to get to Memphis. There is great temptation in those two states — lots of gambling casinos and loose women!

Little Aggie Bear better still have his innocence and be able to work with children when he gets back to Texas.

Yes, that’s a three liter bottle of Jack. YOU CAN’T HANDLE A THREE LITER BOTTLE OF JACK!

One Little Texas Aggie Trumpet Case Bear, one three liter bottle of Jack Daniel’s, one Fightin’ Texas Aggie Alamo Basement Ring and a 2004 one Troy ounce, .999 pure silver American Eagle U.S. Dollar coin. I’ll have to go by the Animal House and see what John Blutarsky ("Bluto”) would do.

My advise, “I suggest everyone start drinking heavily.”

I dispatched Little Texas Aggie Bourbon Bear to procure some bourbon for the weekend. I had no premonition that he’d bring back a 1.75 L bottle of Basil Hayden Kentucky Bourbon!

Whiskey, like wine starts to oxidize once a bottle is opened and will eventually go bad. Or, at least not have the flavor that was intended by the distiller.

Professional whiskey collectors add marbles to their bottles after they drink out of a bottle that could cost up to or above $1,000.00 USD. Marbles bring the level of the whiskey up into the stem of the bottle which reduces the amount of oxygen in contact with the surface of the liquid.

I had to make an Emergency Command Decision (ECD)! I told Aggie Bourbon Bear, “Round up the other seven Aggie Bears. Tell them to put on their drinking diapers.”

As he ‘bear crawled’ out of my home office, I called out, “Tell everyone my advise is to start drinking heavily!”

This is the three-Texas Aggie Bear “Council of Destiny”! They determine which Texas A&M Cadets I purchase an Aggie Rings or Aggie Boots for are worthy. Last year, I “procured” three Aggie Rings and two pairs of Aggie Boots for worthy cadets.

On-campus interviews will begin this Fall semester.
