In this episode of AeroDef Next Gen, we’re exploring how modernization efforts are extending the capabilities of one of the world’s most advanced fighter aircraft, the F-35 Lightning II.
Lockheed Martin has been awarded a $991 million contract to produce modification kits designed to upgrade electronic warfare systems across the global F-35 fleet. These updates strengthen the aircraft’s ability to detect, counter, and respond to modern threats while supporting the platform’s next phase of operational capability.
The upgrade kits will be delivered to multiple service branches, including the United States Marine Corps, United States Air Force, and United States Navy, as well as international partners operating the aircraft.
Modernization programs like this demonstrate how aerospace and defense leaders are strengthening mission readiness by integrating advanced systems and capabilities across existing fleets.

In this episode of AeroDef Next Gen, we’re exploring how Boeing is redefining satellite development for a faster, more flexible future.
For decades, satellites were built as one-off systems, customized, complex, and time-intensive. Boeing’s new modular platform shifts that model, enabling scalable designs, quicker production timelines, and the ability to adapt missions as needs evolve.
In an era where space capabilities are critical to both defense and global connectivity, this approach isn’t just innovation, it’s a strategic advantage. Because when missions change, the technology supporting them has to keep up.
