Yom Haatzmaut at HALB was full of pride and excitement for students, faculty and parents alike. Lev Chana children took their annual “trip to Israel”. Passports in hand, they boarded their El Al flight, went through customs and visited their classrooms transformed into different cities. At HALB the community enjoyed an incredible Eitan Katz concert, BBQ and special performances by our students. Thank you to our bnot sheirut, Tehila and Kayla, for your hard work!

Yesterday, IDF soldier Mordechai came to visit HALB. A few months ago, the HALB Mission to Israel visited Mordechai at Tel Hashomer Hospital after he was seriously injured. They brought him beautiful letters from students. He found the letters so touching he decided to come visit HALB once he was recovered enough. Yesterday, Mordechai joined the morning line up with Mr. Altabe, speaking to the lower school and leading them in song with his guitar and violin. He then spoke to the Middle School, singing with them as well. It was an incredibly inspirational and moving day for the students, faculty and for Mordechai himself. His message to us is an important one - he may be physically fighting for Am Yisrael and Eretz Yisrael by serving in the IDF, but all of us are fighting with our tefilot and mitzvot. He won’t stop and neither can we. Am Yisrael Chai!

Mazal tov! On Sunday, the sixth grade girls celebrated with their parents at the Bat Mitzvah breakfast. They sang, they danced and they enjoyed delicious food!

Halb Mission to Israel: Day 2
- Met with Israeli Political Commentator and Media Analyst Daniel Seaman.
- Visited the Cramim Hotel and met with displaced families from Zikim and Netiv HaAsara.
- Volunteered at a garlic field
- Visited injured chayalim at Tel HaShomer Hospital and delivered letters written by HALB students. It made their day!
- Closed the night with a beautiful BBQ for soldiers complete with singing and dancing together!
