Andric Stephens’s BFA exhibition “One Thing Bleeds to
Another” is a mixed-media ceramic installation exploring
the fragmentation, vulnerability and interconnections of
the body and memory.
Lucia Wang BFA exhibition “Luminescence” features
enameled metal works focusing on the theme of the
Natural vs. the Artificial.
Jasmine Alas BFA exhibition presents ceramic and mixed
media work that becomes relics and portals channeling
dream states, obscure timelines, and mystical nostalgia
into layered, sculptural fragments.
Olivia Prior BFA exhibition “Terra Mar” exhibits medium to
large-scale ceramic sculptures depicting elements of
Southern California coastal landscapes.

Melissa Meza shares ceramic pieces inspired by my Mexican upbringing, honoring family, tradition, and
memory through altars, Día de los Mu***os offerings,
and handmade cultural sculptures.

Now is the time to submit gallery proposals for the Spring 2026 gallery schedule!
All exhibition proposals must be submitted through this form: https://forms.office.com/r/23xpBtkwAb

Scheduling priority for accepted proposals is as follows:
Departmental Exhibitions & BFA Group Degree Exhibitions (Submitted by faculty)
Required MFA Degree Exhibitions
Required BFA Solo Degree Exhibitions
Non-Degree Group Exhibitions (Any exhibition that is not required for a degree)
Non-Degree Solo Exhibitions (Any exhibition that is not required for a degree)

Please note that non-degree proposals are more likely to be selected if you are proposing a show that could occur earlier in the semester, and/or if you are proposing a group exhibition.

You must review the SOA Gallery Guidelines before submitting a gallery request: https://www.csulb.edu/school-of-art/soa-gallery-guidelines-and-scheduleLinks to an external site.

Priority requests must be submitted by Wednesday, December 3rd at midnight. Requests will be accepted after this date with lower scheduling priority.

Please note that you will need to have a consulting faculty member sign your exhibition description — this should be a full time professor. Follow the Linktree to access the application form, which includes a URL for the exhibition description PDF that should be attached to your form submission.

You must be enrolled in a 3-unit School of Art class during the semester of your exhibition.

MFA GRADUATE CRITIQUE WEEK 2025 
Ceramics, Dutzi, Gatov, Merlino, and Werby Galleries 
Exhibition dates: Sunday 10/26 - Thursday 10/30 
Weekly gallery hours: Monday-Thursday, 12-4pm
Critique dates: Monday 10/27 - Thursday 10/30, 4-8pm 

Grad week is a four-day event bringing a different critic each night to discuss CSULB MFA student work in a public forum. Each visiting critic partners with a CSULB faculty member to lead discussions on selected graduate students’ work across various media, including sculpture, fibers, photography, painting, and ceramics. Students are paired with critics to foster meaningful conversations, with invitees chosen based on student and faculty recommendations.

The MFA Advancement Exhibition features varied work from advancing MFA candidates. This mid-point graduate program exhibitions shows the developmental direction MFA students are taking towards their MFA Thesis
exhibitions. Participating artists include Em Aguilar, Madelynn Felix, Kaleigh Fleischmann, Nara Kitahara, Kiyong Joshua Kim, Heesoo Lee, Jade Liu, Ramiro Meza, Jacqueline Mix, Cindy Rocha, Sydney Sanchez, and Charlotte Song.
“Collide” the Graphic Design BFA Junior show features portfolio work from students recently accepted to the BFA Graphic Design program - design works include branding, packaging, typography, and other creative design
explorations.

Fall Open Studios will take place on Sunday, October 26 from 3-5pm. Graduate Students in Fiber, Drawing & Painting, Ceramics, Printmaking, Illustration, and Sculpture will be opening their studios to visitors ahead of the Gallery opening for Graduate Critique Week. Get a behind-the-scenes look at our MFA cohort.
