The RuMBa Foundation provides grants to other local non-profits providing art experiences for students and families in Long Beach.

The RuMBa (pronounced rum-ba) Foundation of Long Beach was founded in 2015 by Josephine Molina and Heather Rudy to provide access to art experiences for children in LBUSD. Grant applications are accepted twice a year and submissions are by invitation only. If you wish to be included on the submission list please contact us at [email protected] for more information.

LAKE ARROWHEAD ARTIST RETREAT AND FUNDRIASER

Join us on June 6 from 1-4 pm at the Lake Arrowhead home of Josephine Molina and Heather Rudy for hors d’oeuvres, live music, and an art sale featuring works created by artists at the Lake Arrowhead Plein Air Artist Retreat.

About the Museum:
The Museum is an accredited, nationally recognized community-focused art institution that owns and maintains a permanent collection of over 4,300 art objects spanning all media and cultures and covering three centuries of American, European, and international art. Along with a lively schedule of rotating exhibitions, the Museum specializes in California art, California modernism, art created by Southern California women since the 1950s, early 20th-century European art, decorative arts, and fine crafts.

In 2019, the Museum opened an additional location, LBMA Downtown, located in the heart of the East Village Arts District. The historic art campus brings greater opportunities to engage with new and emerging artists, gallery exhibitions, and arts-focused educational programming for local students.

Thank you to Artist Anna Lian Tes for this new poster art concept, representing the resilience of the Khmer temples--surviving countless wars and remaining strong beautiful and timeless; a reflection of its people.

Anna is a Los Angeles based Cambodian-American graphic designer and illustrator hailing from New Jersey. After graduating from the School of Visual Arts in New York, she headed west to California, working on music packaging before she began her career designing posters for many award winning films.

RuMBa Foundation Family Concert
June 7, 2026 @ 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm

This free festival-style event will be filled with activities, live music, interactive booths, and kid-friendly food. Children will be able to play with symphonic musical instruments at the “Instrument Petting Zoo” and crafting their own batons for “Conducting 101” with our assistant conductors. Enjoy arts and crafts, lawn games and activities, and more! Children are encouraged to come in their favorite costume!

At 3PM, the Terrace Theater will open for children and their families to enjoy an interactive, educational, and playful musical performance, led by by Maestro Eckart Preu. Join in the fun and learn about all the different sights and sounds that make up an orchestra.

“This is a multi-generational family fun day where kids of all ages create lifelong memories. We are extremely thankful to The RuMBa Foundation for their multi-year generous grant and the access it provides to so many families,” says Long Beach Symphony President Kelly Ruggirello.
