Annie Murray BS, MPS, has built, owned and directed Newport Academy at Phases for the past 14 years. Finding a need many years ago for
a quality learning experience for children between the ages of 18 months and 3 years of age, Newport Academy at Phases was created. She is a highly trained professional with expertise in children with developmental delays, typical development and the emotional health of medically ill children. Having worked with critically ill children at Mt. Sinai Hospital in New York City, Autistic children in Upstate New York and children here in Southern California, both typically developing and those with delays, Annie brings the motto of “live learning, all the time” to Newport Academy at Phases. We are a licensed child care facility with the Department of Social Services, Community Care Licensing. We are also a Vendored Early Intervention Program with Harbor Regional Center. Over the many years, thousands of children, siblings and families have traveled through the doors of our Academy. This little gem in the middle of Belmont Heights in Long Beach CA, has provided many tiny growing minds with the start they need to move to other programs with confidence,
Our staff are Bachelors and Master’s Level Child Development Specialists with longevity in our program. With a combined teaching experience of over 30+ years, they are a committed group of educators and guides who remain creative and innovative with each and every implementation of our curriculum.
