THIS is why STEAM is critical to our children's education today!
"A new study from Michigan State University found that childhood participation in arts and crafts leads to innovation, patents, and increases the odds of starting a business as an adult. The researchers found that people who own businesses or patents received up to eight times more exposure to the arts as children than the general public... If you look at the mavericks of science and technology you will see a pattern of creative outlets being a key to their childhood. Creative activity in childhood rewires your brain to think out-of-the-box according to the researchers."
Childhood Creativity Leads to Innovation in Adulthood Researchers link arts and crafts in childhood to financial success in adulthood.
Dramatic Results is an award-winning non-profit agency that solves educational challenges through arts-based programs. With a focus on under-served and at-risk youth, particularly in Title 1 schools, we build collaborative learning environments that integrate hands-on artistic experiences with STEM and other curricula to help students and educators become creative problem solvers.
We have served more than 30,000 children and 400 classroom teachers across 55 public school campuses since 1992. Our programs include project-based learning, essential questions, innovative approaches to learning, and other integrative methods to link the arts with other core subjects.
