Dear preschool teachers,
Truthfully, you don’t get the credit you deserve.
For many children, preschool is their very first introduction to a structured learning environment.
It might be the first time they are away from their parents, the first time they interact with other children in a classroom, the first time they must follow directions, take turns, listen attentively, or practice manners outside the home.
Preschool is the foundation for a child’s entire school experience, and truly, your job is one of the most important there is.
You provide a safe, welcoming, warm place for our babies not only to land . . . but to launch from.
And we are beyond grateful.
You pour so much into our kids, and watching your relationship grow and develop this year has been the most amazing privilege.
Thank you for the bright smiles that light up your faces every time our kids come bounding toward you on good days, and how expertly you kindly but firmly redirect them on the tough ones.
Thank you for the way you intently listen to the most elaborate, hair-brained stories and crazy explanations of things, and always have the most perfect responses.
Thank you for the handmade crafts our kids bring home and are always so proud of, that we know are the products of your saintly patience, attention, and help.
Thank you for the hilarious songs, games, and dances you teach them.
Thank you for the way you pull them into the most warm, comforting hug any time they cry, or get hurt, or just need to be held.
Thank you for all the special events and holidays you fill with magic and joy, even though we know they require so much time, work, and effort on your part.
Thank you for the way you never forget the details—no matter how small or insignificant.
Thank you for your consistent, stable presence in their lives through the uncertainty of so many hard and scary times.
Thank you for how much you genuinely care about them, how you see the same amazing qualities in them that we do.
Thank you for the way you send them off with a wave and a hug every single afternoon when we pick them up, rain or shine.
Thank you for your messages letting us know that they had such a great day, or that you noticed them being kind to a classmate, or that they’re mastering a new skill.
Thank you for the way you show up each and every day with the same energy, enthusiasm, and passion for nurturing small humans.
Thank you for the peace of mind that our babies are in the absolute best hands while they’re away from us.
That they are safe, that they are learning so much, and that they are so, so loved.
Dear preschool teachers,
We can't thank you enough for everything you've done this year, and our hearts are beyond full.
You’ve changed our children’s lives for the better,
And you've changed ours.
