College Day is always a meaningful opportunity to come together in community with the incredible people who make up LBCC and whose dedication makes student success possible.
The day was filled with energy and special moments from early morning until closing, but maybe the most meaningful memory came after everyone had left and the campus was quiet.
We stopped by the Black Student Success Center to say goodbye to Ms. Angela and met a mother and daughter who had recently arrived from another country. The daughter had enrolled in classes but was unfamiliar with the campus, unsure how to navigate her schedule, and worried about starting school on Monday. Alandra patiently and expertly translated. An hour later, the student felt informed, confident, and ready to begin her journey at LBCC.
Ms. Angela and our UB team never miss an opportunity to serve and support families in need of guidance. We are grateful to be part of Student Equity and to collaborate with campus heroes like Ms. Angela, who are deeply committed to ensuring that no student is left behind. This is what a caring community that believes we all BElong looks like❤️ ❤️
