Amy Larsen is a professional parent advocate, credentialed special education teacher, and former faculty at California State University, Long Beach. She currently assists families with children with disabilities in obtaining public resources and specializes in the implementation of special education law in local school districts. Amy has a practical teacher's perspective, long-standing knowledge o

f school administration and background in applied behavioral analysis, and an emotional understanding that comes from being the parent of a child with disabilities. Amy is also a long-time COPAA professional member and speaker.

The Catastrophe Major Medical Plan, sponsored by the NYSUT Member Benefits Catastrophe Major Medical (CMM) Insurance Trust, and sold via many union affiliates is a health insurance plan designed to provide coverage for catastrophic medical events.

Last year the plan paid out 19 million in claims.
