Global California 2030 is an ambitious goal that seeks to prepare more students for a society and the 21st century economy by the year 2030. As we get closer to that date, it is clear that more work needs to be done to make that vision a reality.

We teamed up with to examine what it takes to build a sustainable bilingual teacher pipeline that is necessary for ensuring California’s multilingual learners have access to educators who reflect and support their linguistic and cultural assets.

In this brief, we center the voices and experiences of Bilingual Authorization Coordinators across California. These coordinators provided critically important insight about the barriers and opportunities our state faces as it seeks to advance equity and multilingualism.

We were honored to participate in this year’s Latina Action Day in Sacramento alongside advocates and partners from across California.

Our staff and partners spent the day meeting with legislative offices and engaging in conversations about the policies that impact Latina/o communities, including educational and health equity.

Days like this remind us that advocacy happens through relationships, collaboration, and showing up together to ensure our communities are heard.

Thank you to HOPE for convening such a powerful day of leadership and action.
