You may be familiar with emails sent from Nancy Levyssohn in Graduate Studies Office. Nancy will soon be retiring after eleven years of service in the Graduate Studies Office, College of Education. She has positively touched the lives of thousands of graduate students and prospective students over the years. Graduate students and colleagues with whom Nancy has worked have greatly appreciated her willingness to go the extra mile to support graduate students and programs, with her signature charm and can-do attitude. Her last day is November 15, and she plans to spend more time with family, travel and do a lot of hiking. We wish her the very best!

Norma Gibbs, Huntington's first female council member and mayor, dies at 94 08/30/2019

We are saddened to learn of the passing of a great leader, Norma Gibbs. In addition to serving as the first woman elected to the Huntington Beach City Council and then serving as Mayor of Huntington Beach, she is
a CSULB Professor Emeritus or Educational Psychology and Administration (1957-1993). Her legacy lives on in many ways, including the Norma Gibbs Butterfly Park, an overwinter resting shelter for North American Monarch butterflies maintained by the Huntington Beach Tree Society.
