A huge thank you to and for including a Survivor Mentality Foundation advocate on this important panel at the Long Beach Convention Center! It was an honor to contribute to the conversation on human trafficking awareness, prevention, and proper protocol for working with overseas clients who may be at risk.

Survivor voices and lived experience expertise are critical in shaping effective solutions, and we’re grateful for the opportunity to share knowledge that can help protect vulnerable individuals.

Together, we’re making an impact! Looking forward to more collaborations in the fight against trafficking.

A huge thank you to TPM for inviting me to be a panelist at the Long Beach Convention Center! It was an honor to share my expertise on human trafficking awareness, prevention, and proper protocol when working with overseas clients who may be at risk of trafficking.

Having these conversations is critical to ensuring that businesses and professionals are equipped with the knowledge to identify red flags, take preventative action, and respond appropriately. Education is one of the strongest tools we have in the fight against trafficking, and I’m grateful for the chance to contribute to this important dialogue.

Happy Veterans Day America! Today we celebrate all veterans in remembrance of the sacrifices they made for us by honouring April Casillas.

April Casillas is a retired veteran, human trafficking survivor, and the CEO of a nonprofit in Southern California focused on supporting victims and at-risk individuals. A devoted Christian, wife, and mother, April’s life and work are driven by a deep commitment to serving others.

Having overcome the trauma of human trafficking herself, April has a fierce dedication to helping other women reclaim their lives. Her nonprofit provides critical support to women in crisis, offering safe transportation, relocation assistance, and crisis intervention services. April’s own journey from survivor to leader is an inspiration to all, and her faith fuels her mission to transform lives through compassion and hope.

On this Veterans Day, we proudly honor April’s service to our country and her ongoing impact as a survivor leader and advocate. Her journey from the military to CEO reflects her courage and dedication to making a difference. Through her work, she brings the transformative power of love, faith, and resilience to those in need, striving to see lives restored and renewed in Christ.

The highlight of my day was watching a facial happen and hearing from the lips of a survivor “I finally feel like a women..”. That’s what you did for us this day , you erased the product and transformed us into persons. You are a rockstar!
