7th Grade Field Trip :: Thank you to the for welcoming our 7th grade students for the day. This connected with the Science Unit on how water affects the ecology of a community & Social Science’s study of local communities and environments.

Introducing IVA’s Faculty…

They are currently creating their intellectual virtue personal and professional goals for the year with time to read, think, discuss together away from the frenetic busyness of the year.

Lev Vygotsky explains that "children grow into the intellectual environment they are surrounded by" to care for students learning and formation, we must first pursue our own.

IVA is looking for one more teacher to complete our team. Tell all the single subject PE teachers you know out there to apply on EdJoin!

IVA is looking for a passionate, dedicated, thoughtful PE teacher to complete our teacher team. IVA enrolls students through a public lottery system aimed at creating a school that is reflective of our community. With 26 students in each PE class, there is every opportunity to develop a relationship and deep understanding of physical education and physical health. We actively seek students and staff from diverse backgrounds. Share this posting with your family and friends and help us continue to committed educators who represent the diversity of our students.

70s Themed Spring Dance 🪩

IVA hasn’t had a Spring Dance in two years. Thank you to our PTA and Volunteers for making this one extra special.

Join us on Friday, April 1 for our 2022-2023 Admissions Lottery. If you’ve applied from December to March 11, you should have received an email with more details. Make sure to check your spam too!

If you aren’t available to watch it live, don’t worry! We’ll notify all families of the results within 10 days of the lottery.

Dear IVA Families,

Open House is an exciting occasion for current and prospective parents to observe what the students experience in class. It's also a great opportunity to see the content from all classes and grade levels to help fill in the gaps that might exist about the learning that occurs at IVA!

What: Open House at IVA is a time in which all classrooms and teachers welcome students, parents, and families to experience learning at IVA with museum-style presentations--walk around, discover, interact, and ask questions!

When: Thursday, March 10 from 6:30 to 8:00 PM

Why: For our parents and prospective students to visibly see the ways in which IVA students think from grades 6-8 in every subject.

Don't miss PTA's Parent Mingle Corner by the labyrinth with a chance for you to meet and connect with other parents.

Parking is available on the blacktop.
*Masks are required on campus

Join us next Thursday, February 24 for our last Info Night of the year. You’ll get to meet and hear from some teachers and current students.

Ms. Gordon’s Math Lab took a field trip to Los Cerritos Park this morning, to celebrate their last day of the semester.

Tomorrow is a Faculty Academy Day, which means that students will have an extra day added to their weekend. We’ll see them back on Monday, for the new Semester ☀️

TEACH AT IVA
IVA is hiring for a 3 block Part time Art Teaching Position starting this Spring Semester. Seeking passionate and qualified to take on our inspiring Art Curriculum or to create your own with our support to teach 3 elective classes to 7th graders.
