Our Senior Capstone Exhibit is now on view in the Elzay Gallery of Art. All of our Bachelor of Arts and Fine Arts candidates in studio arts, art education, and graphic design have devoted a full semester to producing a thematically focused project as part of the required senior capstone experience. The capstone project is designed to encourage students to define the complex intersection between personal voice, conceptual understanding, the ability to conduct and use research, and to effectively use their liberal arts education in a process of creating a compelling, professional presentation.

MaKena Ellenberger, a BFA/studio arts and entertainment design and production, is exhibiting Scattered Memories. “I designed the theatrical set for ‘The Glass Menagerie’ by Tennessee Williams to be used in the ONU Freed Center for the Performing Arts this spring. The intention of my design is to focus on the themes of fragility, memory, disconnection, and desperation and how these affect the story as a whole and the individual characters. Every scenic decision has been picked to show the emotional disconnection between the family in a physical way.”

We had a blast hosting the Ohio Northern University Stem Camp Students today! Lots of fun with the destructive test rig and lots of broken cable!

Our hearts and prayers go to the Shutt Family and the Kewpee Hamburgers Family as they lost their patriarch, Harry Shutt. His support of the arts and the community is a legacy which we have all felt. From the almost 30 year tradition of The ONU Holiday Spectacular giving thousands access to a premiere holiday musical r***e, to being awarded the Governor's Award for the Arts -- Mr. Shutt will always be remembered by the Ohio Northern University family. We salute you, Dear Sir!!
