The theme of today’s Wavemakers Toastmasters meeting is Halloween Costumes.

Some (crazy) people think the modern Halloween tradition was invented by candy companies to pump kids full of sugar before cold and flu season to deplete their immune systems so they’ll get sick and spread their viruses around so that the drug companies who own the candy companies can sell lots of medicine and make massive profits.

Smart people know drug companies (and the candy companies they own) would NEVER intentionally make people sick for money and that Halloween is really all about carrying on the supposedly ancient pagan tradition of dressing up in costumes every October 31st to scare away evil spirits. Because if there’s one thing evil spirits are terrified of - it’s costumes! (like the costumes from the hit show Squid Games)

But they’re all wrong.

The greatest invention was also the first invention. What did Adam and Eve cook up immediately after they ate from the tree of Knowledge?

Whatever you want to call it - underwear is the best invention EVER! Imagine life without this king of invention: Cold. Painful. Unsanitary. Indecent. Danger around every bend.
