We’re proud to announce our student of the month, Nishka!

Nishka has been with us for over two years now. It’s been so rewarding to see her evolution from a talkative 6-year-old to a focused, passionate 8-year-old dancer.

While she’s always been our resident chatterbox in class, these last few months have shown a beautiful shift in her focus and technique. She recently shared something that touched my heart: she admitted that she didn’t like Kathak at first 🤣 and only came to class because her mom encouraged her to. But now she genuinely loves it and looks forward to every new challenge we tackle each week.

Watching a student find their own ‘why’ is the best part of teaching. Keep shining, Nishka!

We’re loving our new location in San Diego with a new beginner class led by our talented faculty member Rishika Ravichandran!

The new class is held at one of Studio K’s newest rooms on Clairemont Mesa Boulevard 🤩 . The class officially kicked off in October, and the Kathakars are enthusiastic about showing up and learning the art of storytelling.

These photos of our Pasadena Adult Group popped up in memories today. Most of these dancers are still connected to Kathak, whether they are here at NKA or sharing their art globally.

Spot .is (front row, far left), she is now part of our faculty, leading our Pasadena kids class and jumping in to support other groups as needed.

👩🏻‍💻A lot of people have been asking us lately if they can start learning Kathak from outside our 5 locations — so after a long time, we‘re opening a new beginner virtual class through NKA’s distance learning program!

💃🏽You can join live from wherever you are and still be part of a weekly group class that learns together each week. The program also offers a full diploma track — from Basic Diploma up to Visharad (bachelor’s level) — plus opportunities to perform in our community showcases at .
