“Democratic Party mayor from the City of Long Beach just came out against the Rent Control initiative that the community is pushing for on the November ballot; it’s official, the Democratic Party is the official party of gentrification and displacement- The Democratic Party state legislators just shut down a state bill last week that would have overturned the anti-Worker law called the ‘Costa Hawkins Act’. The Costa Hawkins Act is the law that prevents rent control for buildings built after 1995 in CA (& in Los Angeles this is true for buildings built after 1978). There is no ‘reforming’ the Dem party.
