Story Time values, Representation Matters:
1. Priority is for those books that use people versus animals (animals are fun and I prefer books where children can see themselves represented).
2. Books that represent people of color - darker tones the better. I tend to find less less books with darker tones of skin. The majority of easily accessible books represent light-skinned characters.

Our focus has been to provide support for families of color in and around the Long Beach, CA area. We have been overwhelmed with the amount of participation and positive feedback we have received about our work at La Fuente. We have seen firsthand the need for this space that we've created. So much so, that we've outgrown our current location and need a larger space to hold our community. With a larger space, comes larger expenses. We now need your help in securing our new home.
