Story Time values, Representation Matters:
1. Priority is for those books that use people versus animals (animals are fun and I prefer books where children can see themselves represented).
2. Books that represent people of color - darker tones the better. I tend to find less less books with darker tones of skin. The majority of easily accessible books represent light-skinned characters.

Over the last year and a half we have been working tirelessly to build a loving & nurturing community. Our focus has been to provide support for families of color in and around the Long Beach, CA area. We have been overwhelmed with the amount of participation and positive feedback we have received about our work at La Fuente. We have seen firsthand the need for this space that we've created. So much so, that we've outgrown our current location and need a larger space to hold our community. With a larger space, comes larger expenses. We now need your help in securing our new home. If the work we have done at La Fuente has impacted you in any way, please consider donating to this cause to help open our doors in a bigger location to better serve our growing community of parents, caregivers, and family wellness professionals.
