🎣 Big ideas, bigger catches!

Our creative 3rd graders recently took on an exciting challenge in the Makerspace classroom! Tasked with removing "rocks" from their pretend lake, these young inventors designed and built their very own custom fishing devices.

After testing their inventions, students completed engineering sheets to analyze their results and brainstorm ways to make their designs even stronger. But in Mrs. Herbert’s class, you won't find the word "no," reflection sheets only have two options: "Yes, it worked!" or "Not yet!" 💡

We love watching our students embrace the growth mindset that trial and error is just part of the learning journey. Amazing job, 3rd grade engineers!

Our Playground Buddy Bench

At Coast Episcopal School, kindness is built right into playtime.

Our Buddy Bench gives students a simple, brave way to connect. If a child feels lonely or needs someone to talk to at recess, they sit on the bench. It’s an instant signal to their classmates to step up, say hello, and invite them to play.

Whether teaching empathy or making sure no one feels left out, we’re proud to nurture a school where every child belongs. 🤍

We’re off to an amazing start at Coast Episcopal School!

After reading If I Built a School, our second graders put their creativity to work by designing and creating their very own Coast Episcopal School! 🏫

To bring their schools to life, they planted grass seeds in front of their creations that they’ll water, nurture, and watch grow throughout the year. 🌱

It’s a hands-on reminder that growth takes care, patience, responsibility, and ownership, just like our students’ own growth as learners.

We can’t wait to watch both our students and their little schoolyards grow!

Our new school year has officially kicked off!

Last night, we welcomed our families back for our Meet the Teacher gatherings, and it was so wonderful seeing our students walk through the doors feeling right at home and ready for another great year! ❤️

Getting ready for our students means preparing for every moment. Our faculty and staff spent part of Teacher Work Week completing First Aid, CPR, and AED training to help keep our school community safe.
