We hope you are all doing great on those last projects and final exams, les deseamos mucha suerte! Now we know graduation has been postponed....Pero we are happy to announce that we will be hosting a virtual celebration for the class of 2020.
Giving a speech to the class of 2020 will be none other than NAHJ Alumni and reporter for Univision Palm Springs, Cristian Gomez!

That’s a wrap! We want to thank those of you who attended our meeting today, we hope you enjoyed it and found it useful. And of course we want to give a huge shoutout and thank you to Javier Cabral for the conversation, the advice and all the insights you provided us with. As we always say, no matter how big or small our crowds are, the impact these speakers make is huge! So thank you Javier. Now before ending our chat Javier did leave us with a little message:

“As you grow in your careers, remember to pay it forward to younger Latinos who want to get into this industry. Because we all need to start somewhere and we need to help each other out especially right now,” Cabral said.

Well we’re bringing y’all some much needed good news. We are so happy to announce that this Wednesday we are welcoming non-other than Javier Cabral Editor at and Associate Producer for Netflix’s “Taco Chronicles” as our virtual guest speaker. As always we encourage all of you to join us for this virtual conversation with Javier. The link to our meeting has been sent out to all of our members in an email. We want to thank everyone who came out yesterday to our workshop. A special thank you goes out to our special guests and who were absolutely amazing!
Lupe provided all of us with such great advice and great tips but over all was truly inspirational and motivating. While Frosty provided us with a little spoken word and did an amazing job at being our interviewee.
We also want to give a huge thanks to Danny Lemos and 22 West for providing such a great space to us.
Lastly, we want to congratulate our students for doing such a great job during the “interviewing on camera” workshop, y’all are pro’s. If you haven’t already please dm us your email so we can send you your clip tomorrow. Keep an eye out for information on our next meeting 🤗 and happy Thursday!

We are so happy to announce that our first guest speaker of the semester will be none other than from iHeart Media. Not only will we be able to hear about Lupes journey but we will also be hosting an “on camera interviewing” workshop with her. Everyone who attends will have an opportunity to ask our surprise artist a question or two on camera 🎥 Lupe will be providing guidance and red carpet/ entertainment tips for those participating in the workshop. So make sure to save the date 🗓
We are so excited and we hope to see you there.

Hey everyone! Here’s a little motivation for your Tuesday. Today we’re highlighting CSULB Alumni Pablo Chacon who is currently Associate Producer for KTLA 5 News /California Cooking with Jessica Holmes. When asked what advice he had for students he said:
“Be patient. It may be difficult and frustrating to get that first internship or job but don't give up. When you do land that internship or job take many notes but most importantly acknowledge those you work with; from the people who keep the workplace clean to your boss. You never know who is watching.”
