The teacher prepares the children's rooms keeping within the established philosophy and goals of the CDC. Carries out Desired Results Developmental Profiles for each child and develops individual and group plans. the teacher coordinates the program, supervises student assistants, and reports to parents in the Assistant Director's absence. May open or close the facility as dictated by circumstances.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Knowledge of planning, implementing and evaluating developmentally appropriate curriculum for children ages 18 months- 3 years and/or 3 years - 5 years of age. Current involvement in professional organizations related to young children and their families. Ability to supervise staff and student teachers. Knowledge of and ability to adhere to all University policies, procedures, and guidelines including but not limited to safety, civility, and non-discrimination policies and procedures.
Ability to communicate with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community. Ability to follow all university policies, procedures, and guidelines including but not limited to safety, civility, information security, and non-discrimination policies and procedures. Ability to contribute to a positive university experience for each and every student, and assist in achieving the university's commitment to a "vision of excellence."
