The Clinic

Long Beach Center for Clinical Research (LBCCR) is a private research clinic founded by Dr. Deanna Cheung to pursue clinical research in the areas of cardiovascular disease prevention and internal medicine. This new facility was opened in 2007 by Dr. Cheung after previously operating as Memorial Research Medical Clinic since 1986. In partnership with the pharmaceutical industry, we hav

e participated in the development of many new treatments for hypertension, hyperlipidemia and diabetes. Current, ongoing studies include treatments for high blood pressure, diabetes, high cholesterol, metabolic syndrome and degenerative arthritis. Staff

Our friendly and professional staff has substantial experience with clinical research and patient education. Our nurse practitioner has extensive experience in diabetic management and teaching. Our clinical nurses have worked with well-known investigators and with major pharmaceutical companies during many years of clinical research. Our study coordinators are highly trained research personnel who manage studies and carry out research procedures. Our office is located in Long Beach, California. Dr. Cheung, Director of Research, is a board-certified internist with a Hypertension Specialist designation from the American Society of Hypertension and a special interest in cardiovascular disease prevention. She has over 20 years of experience in conducting clinical research. Dr, Cheung is also a Clinical Instructor in Medicine at the University of California, Irvine. In addition to her research activities, she teaches, and practices both inpatient and outpatient medicine.
