We participated in Japanese Cultural Fair at LBCC, Long Beach City College yesterday!

It was a fun event and great to get out to spread information about Long Beach Japanese Language School and Long Beach Japanese Cultural Center festival, which is happening June 27th, 2026.

Fair goers got to try and make some origami and learn about Japanese culture and we even had visit from The Shamisen Brothers Band Kuni Ken! They put on a great concert later that evening!

Spring Semester enrollment is now open. Come polish your Japanese language skills at Long Beach Japanese School.

In Japan, December 28 is traditionally a day for making mochi in preparation for the New Year.
Following this tradition, LBJLS held a mochi-making event. The event was made possible by the Bento Club, a dedicated volunteer group that took the lead in organizing and supporting the mochi-making, making it a joyful and memorable experience for all.

The Holiday Program is here! This Saturday from 8am is our pancake breakfast and crafts and bake sale. Then at 10am is the Holiday Program. All donations go to support the Japanese School. See you soon!
