Details: To commemorate Master Gichin Funakoshi’s (“Father of Modern Karate”) death (April 26, 1957), we will dedicate a special Kick Practice performing 500 maegeri techniques. Then apply kicks against a bag and a real opponent. Join us in this intense practice and challenge yourself to bring out your inner strength!

Had an incredible time exploring Twin Falls, Idaho! Thanks to Jesse Clark () for showing us around. We visited the Perrine Bridge, hiked the Snake River trails, watched BASE jumpers, tracked down the Perrine Coulee Waterfall and Shoshone Falls, and enjoyed an awesome lecture and tour at the CSI fish hatchery led by Melissa.

Welcome to the CSULB Shotokan Karate Club!

We are delighted that you’re interested in our martial arts club! We have been practicing at CSULB since 1968, for over 50 years! We look forward to seeing you in our intense practices, as we sweat and train together to improve our physical and mental health.

Please come to our orientation meeting on Monday, February 2nd, from 12:00pm – 1:00pm. We’ll have an introduction to our club and discuss karate training, history, and upcoming events for the semester. Our first official day of karate practice is on Wednesday, February 4th, 12:00pm – 1:00pm.

Beach Pride Events is proud to present our “Week of Welcome” at Long Beach State University (LBSU)! Every semester, Week of Welcome (WoW) helps students make connections, join clubs and organizations, learn about university resources and so much more. We have expanded WoW to include more events!

WoW will host student clubs and campus departments grouped into different categories. All categories will be present on both Wednesday and Thursday.

Congratulations to all members who completed 2026 Winter Special Training in Long Beach! We had members from CSULB, Lake Forest, San Diego (Encinitas & Peninsula), & Twin Falls.

CSULB representatives included: Trung Pham, Jason Aurand, Kevin England, Daniel Valenzuela, Bernardo Benedict, & Dillyn Sam.

Great leadership from Jesse Clark who inspired us to push beyond our limits. New friendships were made from other dojos. Hard push and strong spirit from everyone.
