We invite you to celebrate the life of one of our LCS graduates, Grace Edwards. We continue to pray for the family during this time. She was dearly loved by all…and she will always be a Bear! 🐻💙

We would like to take time to celebrate another one of our Legacy Teachers who will be turning 90 this December! Her birthday wish isn’t to receive any more “stuff,” but to think back and celebrate her teaching years and rejoice in the memories.
If you would like to share some of your memories of Jamie Grinsell or send a simple “Happy Birthday, or “Thanks for teaching me,” she and her family would truly be blessed by these special gifts.
Thank you, Mrs. Grinsell, for all your years here at LCS and the impact you have made in so many lives. Happy 90th Birthday! We celebrate you 🥳

Here at LCS, our Legacy Teachers started on day one, and Carol Brown was one of those teachers. Our dearly loved and cherished foundational teacher went home to be with Jesus last week, and this Saturday we’re celebrating her life.
Thank you, Mrs. Brown, for all of the memories and your legacy that lives on here at LCS.

Meet Mrs. VandenBerg🙌
-This is my 1st year teaching at LCS but my 25th year in the field of education!
-I get to teach 3rd grade and love being a part of the house of heart♥️
-My favorite thing about LCS is the amazing community (staff and students) that feel like family.
-My favorite food is anything fresh and healthy, a good ahi salad or poke bowl makes me happy. (I’m not always a “health nut” though because I do really love a fresh soft baked cookie!)
-When I’m not teaching I love to be out in the sun doing anything fun... like walking my golden retriever Kali or working out with my fitness friends or simply enjoying a day at the beach or bay with my family and friends!☀️

Meet Ms. Kimura👏
-This is my 8th year teaching at LCS!
-I am a 2nd grade teacher but prior to that, I had the joy of teaching Kindergarten for 5 years.
-My favorite part of my job is building lasting relationships with my students and teaching them all about Jesus! There’s nothing better to me than watching my students fall in love with God’s Word, be transformed by the Gospel, and watching them develop their own personal relationship with Jesus. 🥹 I love that I get to love my students the way Jesus does by being his eyes, heart, hands, and feet.
-When I’m not teaching, I love to travel, hang out at the beach, go on walks with friends, and play 🏐🏀🎾.
-A fun fact about me is that I began teaching in Hawaii 🤙🏽 then got to do children’s ministry in Papua New Guinea. At LCS I love that I get to do both!

1. This is my 7th year at LCS🥳
2. Middle School PE(6th, 7th, and 8th). House of Heart ❤️ 🫶
3. I love connecting with students and helping them grow in their abilities and learn something new that they didn’t think was possible as well as improving on something they already know. I love seeing the moments where understanding happens and things “click” for them. It’s so awesome to see when they do something amazing that they didn’t think was possible, and they realize “Yeah, I can do this!”.
4. Food: I like a little bit of everything but some of my favorite dishes are the farfalle with chicken and roasted garlic from the Cheesecake Factory, a Cobb salad, a well marbled steak, a tasty burger with all the fixin’s, revolving sushi, non slimy seafood…and I do have to admit that I like pineapple on my pepperoni pizza 🍕 😯 i will also say that I don’t like mushrooms but I am a fungi 🤪
5. When I’m not teaching I’m…
going to Disneyland, playing sports(soccer, volleyball, etc.), traveling, camping, hanging out with family and friends, going out to eat, and enjoying life with my wife
6. Fun facts:
-I’ve pulled the sword in the stone out at Disneyland
-I can juggle a soccer ball while playing the guitar
