Young Scientists Camp 2026 will be July 13-24 (M-F, 8:30-noon) at CSULB.
YSC is for kids entering 2nd - 9th grade.
Registration will open March 6 at 9AM.

Fun day studying the anatomy of squid followed by a visit to the Marine and Shark Lab.

Our engineers designed bubble wands and explored various bubble design solutions.

Fun day at camp! Lots of activities where students were making observations, making predictions and challenging their understanding of science.

Our Ocean Science campers found out how salinity changes water density. Can you make a grape float?
Our Cool Chemists made aluminum foil boats and tested to see how many pennies they would hold. Can you make one which holds more than 100? They could!

The 2025 YSC staff is on campus getting ready for the start of camp! We are looking forward to seeing all our campers next week.

During the last few days of camp Habitat Hunters went to the Science Learning Center and they learned about frogs. They tried to mimic frogs catching flies using party favors with tape on the end. I think they decided frogs must go hungry lots of the time!
