✨Simple Materials, Endless Possibilities✨

This week we hosted a Fun at Home parent workshop led by our incredible teachers, Ms. Norma and Ms. Sandy. Families explored hands-on activities using everyday materials, including making oobleck, melting ice with salt and water, mixing watercolors and measuring, and building towers with pool noodles and toothpicks.

These playful experiences support fine motor skills, early math and science, language development, creativity, problem-solving, and self-regulation, all without screens—just curiosity, creativity, and connection.

🎒 Every family will receive a take-home STEM kit with materials to use at home, even if you weren’t able to attend the workshop.

✨Materiales sencillos, posibilidades infinitas✨

Esta semana organizamos un taller para padres llamado “Diversión en casa”, dirigido por nuestras increíbles maestras, la Sra. Norma y la Sra. Sandy. Las familias exploraron actividades prácticas con materiales cotidianos, como hacer oobleck, derretir hielo con sal y agua, mezclar acuarelas y medir, y construir torres con flotadores de piscina y palillos de dientes. Estas experiencias lúdicas fomentan la motricidad fina, las primeras nociones de matemáticas y ciencias, el desarrollo del lenguaje, la creatividad, la resolución de problemas y la autorregulación, todo ello sin pantallas, solo con curiosidad, creatividad y conexión.

🎒 Todas las familias recibirán un kit STEM para llevar a casa con materiales para usar en casa, incluso si no pudieron asistir al taller.

Through our CDFA Farm to School program, the children turn fresh, seasonal produce into exciting learning experiences. Each week’s harvest becomes a chance to cook, taste, and create — building fine motor skills, sparking curiosity, and nurturing healthy habits at school and home. 🥬🥔🍓🫑

A través de nuestro programa “De la Granja a la Escuela” de CDFA, los niños convierten los productos frescos de temporada en emocionantes experiencias de aprendizaje. La cosecha semanal se convierte en una oportunidad para cocinar, degustar y crear, desarrollando la motricidad fina, despertando la curiosidad y fomentando hábitos saludables en la escuela y en casa. 🥬🥔🍓🫑

Reading is dreaming with open eyes, and made that dream a reality for our students! Thank you for sharing stories with them and for gifting each child a book bag. Your generosity and support for literacy will inspire their imaginations for years to come! 📚✨

We explore how our bodies connect with the world around us! 🌿 Through hands-on activities, the children are using their senses of smell and touch to explore plants like parsley, mint, lavender, and rosemary from our garden. As they ask questions and investigate, they describe the scents, feel the textures, and bring their discoveries to life with playdough creations. It’s all about the curiosit, critical thinking, and learning through exploration!🌸

¡Exploramos cómo nuestros cuerpos se conectan con el mundo que nos rodea! 🌿 A través de actividades prácticas, los niños usan sus sentidos del olfato y el tacto para explorar plantas como el perejil, la menta, la lavanda y el romero de nuestro jardín. Mientras hacen preguntas e investigan, describen los aromas, sienten las texturas y dan vida a sus descubrimientos con creaciones de plastilina. ¡Se trata de la curiosidad, el pensamiento crítico y el aprendizaje a través de la exploración! 🌸

Through gardening, children engage all of their senses and improve crucial skills such as fine motor and locomotor skills. It is a fun way to enjoy nature and it can be enjoyed at any age! ☀️🍃
