✨Preparing for a Great Spring Semester! ✨

College Corps students joined last week’s Lunch and Listen session on campus, where they reflected on their fall semester and talked about goals for the upcoming spring semester. They also had a good time participating in a fun tie-dye activity, showcasing their creativity on College Corps t-shirts! 🙌

Meet Isabelle Monterroso! She is interning and majoring in Criminal Justice. Here is what Isabelle learned and what completing her internship meant to her. “Completing my internship with College Corps and serving as a social media intern at Christian Outreach in Action has been a transformative experience for me. Throughout this internship, I’ve developed a range of valuable skills, from collaborative planning to engaging with clients and navigating social media algorithms. Professionally, this internship has offered me a unique insight into the realm of social services, helping me understand the pressing needs of the community. As someone aspiring to enter Law this experience has clarified my path, making me more aware of the challenges faced by the unhoused and low income populations. I hope to leverage my future legal career to advocate for and bring assistance to vulnerable populations.”

Meet Sophia Miller, she is interning . Here is what Sophia learned and what completing her internship meant to her: “Interning with the Public Health Emergency Management Department has been so rewarding and an amazing opportunity to learn about the medical field through a government lens, how to use office programs, and all about information production. I spent most of my time with the Public Information and Engagement Program, absorbing their knowledge of how to film and edit media that is comprehensible and visually appealing to make our presented information accessible and engaging. I plan on becoming an Occupational Therapist with my newly gained experience on accessibility engagement, communication and collaboration go hand-in-hand with my future career whether that is with other medical professionals, or my patients. The Public Health Emergency Management Department has offered me so much knowledge and support throughout my internship I could not be more grateful.”
