Today marked the final day of school for the Holy Innocents School Class of 2026.

What a blessing it has been to watch these young men and women grow in faith, wisdom, virtue, and knowledge throughout their time at Holy Innocents. As they close this chapter of their lives, we are filled with pride and gratitude for all they have accomplished and for the bright futures that lie ahead.

We would also like to thank the parents, families, teachers, and mentors who have supported and sacrificed for these students every step of the way. Their success is a testament to the love, encouragement, and guidance they have received from so many people along their journey.

As our seniors prepare to embark on new adventures in college, careers, and beyond, we pray that they always remain rooted in the truths they have learned, confident in their God-given gifts, and committed to serving Christ wherever He may lead them.

Congratulations, Seniors! We are incredibly proud of you and will be praying for you as you begin this exciting next chapter.

May God bless each of you abundantly.

Ransacked Catholic school recovers from damage, gets encouragement from the Pope 05/01/2026

May 1st — Feast of Saint Joseph the Worker

Today feels especially fitting to share an update: the restoration of our campus is truly beginning to take shape.

Over Easter break, we witnessed real progress—not only in repairing what was damaged, but in strengthening our school for the future.

We are grateful to now have a fully installed security camera system, allowing us to better protect and monitor our campus.

Inside the hall, the transformation has been remarkable. The stage floor—once deeply scarred by vandalism—has been completely replaced. What was a painful reminder has now been renewed. The hole in the wall where our sound system was torn out has also been repaired.

As work began, we uncovered the full extent of the damage. Three of our four AC units had been shorted out (as many experienced during our Lenten Prayer Service). Stage lighting and portions of the hall lighting were no longer functional—the result of wires violently ripped from the walls. Over the break, electricians worked tirelessly to rewire the space and install new, energy-efficient LED lighting, restoring both safety and reliability.

Today, a new stage curtain is being installed. More than functional, it allows us to preserve the reverence of the altar and sacred space after daily Mass, as the hall returns to its role in school life.

We’re also grateful to share that 100 new daily missals have been purchased, replacing those that were desecrated—so our students can once again fully participate in the Mass.

Our statues remain in the hands of skilled artists and are expected back this fall. The new restored vintage Stations of the Cross will soon follow.

At the same time, we’ve taken significant steps to secure our campus. Shortly before Easter, another intruder attempted to scale our fence after school hours. Thanks to staff presence, no further harm was done—but it reinforced the urgency. New 8-foot wrought iron fencing has now been installed along Willow and Pine, with additional fencing going up in the alley and soon around the convent to protect the Carmelite Sisters who live and serve here.

This has not been an easy process. Coordinating repairs, contractors, and materials has been a heavy lift.

But through it all—you have made the difference.

Because of your generosity, we’ve been able to restore our hall, replace what was lost, and most importantly, provide stability for our students. They are moving forward without carrying the full weight of what happened—and that is a gift.

While so many have contributed, we want to especially thank the Shea Foundation, Fritz Duda, Christina Caruso, Berni & Rob Neal, Guy Hazelzet, and Farmers & Merchants Bank. Your generosity has gone above and beyond. It has helped us begin writing this next chapter of our school's history.

Thank you.

As we continue rebuilding, we are also returning to the rhythm of school life. One important step is our Annual Golf Tournament on Wednesday, June 17th at Recreation Park Golf Course 18 in Long Beach.

Because of the delays caused by this incident, we are working quickly to spread the word. This tournament directly supports our Scholarship Fund—ensuring that families in need can continue to access a Holy Innocents education.

If you feel called to support, we invite you to join us on the course or help us share this effort.

We are rebuilding—together.

More updates to come soon. Thank you again for standing with us.

What is rhetoric?

In a world where the word is often misunderstood, we reclaim it for what it truly is:
the art of thinking clearly, speaking truthfully, and choosing wisely.

At Holy Innocents School, rhetoric is more than a class—it’s a formation. From our youngest students learning to speak with confidence, to our seniors defending the faith with clarity and conviction, rhetoric shapes the whole person.

It teaches our students not what to think, but how to think.
Not just how to speak—but how to lead.

Through public speaking, debate, and our award-winning forensics program, our students grow in:
• Confidence
• Clarity
• Courage

They learn to articulate truth, engage the world, and build meaningful relationships—skills that extend far beyond the classroom.

Because in the end, rhetoric is not about winning arguments.
It’s about forming minds, strengthening voices, and preparing young men and women to live a life of faith with purpose and conviction.

This is Catholic Classical education in action.
