Since 2020, the Turner Family has donated to the Safe Parking Program which allows LBCC students who are experiencing housing insecurities to receive a gas card for emergency essentials. The LBCC Foundation purchases the gift cards from the Turner Family donation and delivers them to the LBCC Student Emergency & Basic Needs Program for students. LBCC’s Annual Scholarship Reception today was a great success! Donors and families came together to celebrate our LBCC student’s achievements! Congratulations to the students that applied and recieved scholarships to further their education and journey towards their careers.

A big week for student scholarships! The Long Beach Rotary Scholarship Foundation awarded 235 scholarships in the 2023-2024 school year to students from LBCC and Cal State Long Beach. Rotary has been supporting local students since 1929! November is National Scholarship Month!

LBCC represented at the Long Beach Century Club meeting last night. We are proud to support LBCC alum, Greg Townsend, former professional football player who was a defensive end in the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Long Beach Citybefore transferring to TCU and was selected by the Los Angeles Raiders in the fourth round of the 1983 NFL draft. He also played for the Philadelphia Eagles! ♥️🖤
