TOMORROW IS PICTURE DAY! Get those fun outfits ready and come with a smile! Students will go with their classes during the day for their photo time. Photo ordering information will come home via email and with your student.

We want to remind all families that our 45-minute Friday Late Start schedule is now officially in effect for all DCSD elementary and middle schools.

Quick Facts for Fridays:

Start Time: First bell is at 9:20, Late Bell is at 9:25. School is dismissed at 3:30.
Transportation: Bus routes run exactly 45 minutes later on Friday mornings.
Child Care: BASE is available for elementary families needing morning care.
Preschool: There is no change to the preschool schedule.
Breakfast: WILL be served from 9:15-9:30

6:15-6:40 - Classroom Presentation/Scavenger Hunt
6:45-7:00 - Admin Presentation in Gym (Same as 5pm; only need to attend once)

So thankful for these incredible officers!!!

👮‍♂️📚 Keeping Lone Tree schools safe takes teamwork.

The Lone Tree Police Department’s School Resource Officers work alongside students, families, teachers and school administrators to help create safe, secure and welcoming learning environments.

Officers Kyle Goudy, Scott Howard and Dustin Williams serve schools throughout the Lone Tree community as part of LTPD’s Community Partnership Unit.

Their work includes:

• Responding to incidents and safety concerns
• Helping students resolve conflicts
• Providing educational programs
• Preparing for and managing emergencies
• Partnering with school staff and families
• Serving as positive role models for students

Lone Tree’s SRO program is part of the City’s ongoing partnership with Douglas County School District and supports early intervention, relationship building and crime prevention on school campuses.

They're especially excited to see students again this week, and hear about what a great summer they had. Here’s to a safe and successful school year!

We have one last introduction to do before school starts…. Introducing OUR NEW PLAYGROUND!!! Who is super excited to try out all this new equipment?!

Our final new staff member this year (aside from our new EA's who we will introduce next week) is Janet Kieffer. Mrs. Kieffer will be working with our upper grades as a Special Ed teacher. You will find her in the workroom near 4th and 5th grade! Welcome to Eagle Ridge, Mrs. Kieffer!

📅 **A new Friday schedule is coming this school year.**

Beginning August 21, neighborhood elementary and middle schools will start **45 minutes later every Friday** to provide dedicated time for Professional Learning Communities (PLCs).

So, what exactly is PLC time and why are we making this change? It's dedicated time for teachers to work together to analyze student learning, share strategies and plan how to best support every student.
