FFA members - If you plan to participate in trap shooting this school year please stop by my classroom Thursday evening during the meet the teacher night from 5-7pm. I will have a schedule of practices and events, information for parents, liability waivers to sign and will be available to answer any questions you might have. If you are unable to attend you can get the information from me when school starts up, this will just help to simplify things.

Save the date! The first trap practice will be on Sunday afternoon, August 30th.

Congrats to LJ FFA members Hunter Gohdes, Nate McLaughlin and Lane Breshears for earning the American FFA Degree! Their degrees will be awarded at the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis this October and celebrated at our chapter fall awards ceremony in November!

SAE Spotlight

This spotlight goes on Senior LJ FFA member and Chapter President, Aiden McDonald. His Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) project currently consists of raising & exhibiting Californian show rabbits, as well as a ham and bacon he cured, at local fairs.

Aiden's pen of meat rabbits most recently won Grand Champion at the Cass County Junior Livestock Association show and will be up for auction this Thursday evening at 7:00pm at the Cass Career Center pavillion.

You can also catch Aiden's ham and bacon on display at the Missouri State Fair later this month!

Today, 5 of the 8 LJ FFA members who earned the Chapter Leadership Medal traveled to Lebanon for their reward trip, floating down the Niangua River. The water was high today so our kayaks were really moving! No fish were caught (technically) but we did catch a few crawdads, a snake, skipped some rocks, dodged a flying turkey, did some cliff jumping, got a few sunburns and had a great time!

Had a great day at the 2026 Paul Larson State High School trap shooting championship in Linn Creek. Weather was nice and everyone had a good time! LJ FFA was led by Senior Cash Hale who had a PR of 91!
