Flood Brook School, part of the Taconic and Green Regional School District, is a Pre-K through 8 school located in Londonderry, VT in the heart of the Green Mountains. Serving 280 students from the communities of Landgrove, Londonderry, Peru and Weston, we are proud of the key role that we play in the mountain towns of southern Vermont. FBS is a K-8 school that prides itself on academic excellence
, a small school sense of community, strong student-teacher relationships and small classes. With an average class size of 15 students, teachers, administrators, paraprofessionals and support staff are able to know their students on a much closer level than one would find at larger schools. Our 30-acre campus is nestled along Route 11, straddling the line between Londonderry and Landgrove, with amazing views of Magic Mountain and Stratton Mountain. The property also features amazing play structures, outdoor classrooms, nature trails with 1.5 miles of forest hiking, and a an EnergiPrime exercise circuit for children and adults around the athletic fields walking path. Art is central to what we do here, and we work hard to infuse artistic expression, critical thinking, problem solving, and experiential learning in all that we do. Our students enjoy educational opportunities that can only be found in this wonderful region. They learn on-site at Keewaydin, Farm and Wilderness, Fort Ticonderoga, Southern Vermont Arts Center, and much more! 60% of our teaching faculty hold advanced degrees, and ongoing professional development in all areas of elementary and middle school education ensures a high quality, leading-edge learning experience.
