Pawpaw is your ticket to tropical flavors from an Ohio garden! This native tree's fruits are texturally similar to banana, and taste like a blend of banana, mango, and pineapple. Plant pawpaw in a shady location with soil that's rich and well drained. You'll need at least two genetically different trees to yield fruit.

Our Master Gardener Volunteers have been hard at work beautifying our community this past month! Here's a snapshot of just two of their projects: the garden at the Range Township Firehouse and the London Community Garden. Viewing the grounds in person is even better, so stop by to enjoy the view and get ideas for your garden at home!

We often feature trees known for their foliage or flowers, but this one has a distinctive bark! Growing 60-80 feet tall, hackberry is a large tree with an interesting, warty bark. The fruits mature in the fall and are enjoyed by birds. Hackberry prefers moist, well-drained soils but is highly adaptable.
