What an incredible evening for Eagle Nation!

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Groundbreaking Ceremony and Back to School Celebration. Having our students, families, staff, alumni, construction partners, vendors, and community members come together to celebrate this milestone made the evening even more special.

The groundbreaking may be behind us, but this exciting journey is just beginning! We look forward to watching our new school take shape and sharing the progress with you every step of the way.

Due to a power outage, the Madison-Plains Local School District will begin the day today, Thursday, August 20, 2026, on a two-hour delayed start.

My hope is that we will be able to get power restored in time to have school. I will keep you posted.

Good afternoon! As we work to wrap-up the first day of school, and in our efforts to work to make sure our students are on the correct buses and dot i's and cross t's, I wanted to let you know our buses are running behind schedule today by about 25 minutes or so.

Dear Madison-Plains Local School District Families,

Good afternoon! I hope this finds you well and that you are excited about the beginning of the school year!

As we prepare for the beginning of the school year, there is a lot of information that needs to be communicated. The purpose of this communication is to share two of those pieces of information.

Before the school year begins, schools are to let parents/guardians know how they would communicate in the event of an emergency. As such, if an emergency were to occur, we will utilize the School Messenger calling system, e-mail, and the District website to communicate with parents and guardians.

The second piece of information I would like to share is just a quick reminder that Open House is today, Monday, August 17, 2026, from 3:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. The extended window of time for this event is intended to help reduce congestion in the parking lots and hallways. Since Open House is meant to be a quick meet-and-greet with teachers, allow for dropping off supplies, and see where classes are, our hope is that this larger window of time provides more flexibility for when families can be here, thus easing congestion.

We look forward to seeing everyone later today!

Eagle Nation,

It's here! The day we have been waiting for has arrived, and Mother Nature looks like she is working in our favor! The weather for tonight is looking amazing, and we are so excited to celebrate this momentous occasion with our Madison-Plains community.

Here are a few final details to help make your evening go smoothly:

When You Arrive
Make your first stop to the Registration Table to check in and pick up your meal tickets. From there, you are ready to enjoy the evening!

Parking
Our event map shows all available parking areas.

Tennis court: (For our alumni... if you know, you know!) otherwise known as: Parking lot to the right of the football field
Overflow parking at the Intermediate School
Shuttles will be running back and forth from the parking areas to help get everyone where they need to go.

Groundbreaking Ceremony
Please note that beginning at 5:15 p.m., the lot behind the High School will temporarily close for the groundbreaking ceremony. It will reopen as soon as the ceremony has concluded and the area has cleared.

The attached map will help you find parking, registration, food trucks, activities, the groundbreaking ceremony, and everything else happening throughout the evening.

This is more than breaking ground on a new building. It is a celebration of the future of Madison-Plains and the generations of Golden Eagles who will walk through its doors.

We hope you will join us as we celebrate this incredible milestone for our district, our students, our families, and our entire community.

We can’t wait to celebrate with you tonight!

Eagle Nation,

Greetings! We are excited about our groundbreaking ceremony and back-to-school celebration we have planned for this Friday, August 14, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. We have had an amazing response from our community, and we now have more than 1,000 people who have RSVP’d for the event! To say the least, the food trucks and booster groups who will be here serving food will be busy!

As we are experiencing a significant amount of rain this week, and with the weather forecast calling for more, I wanted to take this opportunity and communicate what our plans are in case it rains on Friday evening.

For the groundbreaking ceremony itself, which is scheduled for 5:30 p.m., if light rain is falling, we have made preparations to have a tent under which spectators may stand. If we were to experience a heavy rain or thunderstorms, we are planning to move the groundbreaking ceremony into the HS gym. For the rest of the back-to-school celebration, we are working to secure another tent for people to be able to eat under.

I wanted to share these contingency plans with you, in the event they would be needed.

Please watch for more information regarding parking and event updates.
