Dear MPLSD Families,

The purpose of this communication is to provide a couple of quick, friendly calendar reminders.

First, on Thursday of this week, October 15, 2026, the Madison-Plains Local School District will have a one-hour early release, as it is the end of the first academic quarter, and our teachers will be using that time to finish assessing students' academic work and preparing to report grades on report cards.

Second, there will be no school this Friday, October 16, 2026, as we have Fall Break and a long weekend for our staff and students. Classes will resume on Monday, October 19, 2026.

Finally, next week, we have a scheduled two-hour delayed start on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, to allow for professional development time for our teaching staff.

I hope these calendar reminders are helpful.

Have a wonderful evening!

Go Eagles!

Sincerely,

Mr. Eisler, Superintendent

Madison-Plains Local School District

Step Right Up! It's National School Lunch Week!!!

This week, Madison-Plains is bringing the fun of the carnival to our cafeterias with special carnival-themed lunch entrées!

National School Lunch Week is a great opportunity to celebrate the important role that nutritious school meals play in helping our students learn, grow, and succeed.

A well-balanced school lunch provides essential nutrients that help fuel growing bodies, support concentration, boost energy, and keep students ready for a full day of learning.

**We encourage our students to step right up and TRY SOMETHING NEW this week!** Whether it's a new entrée, a different fruit or vegetable, or something they wouldn't normally choose, you might just discover a new favorite!

**And what's a carnival without a few surprises?**

To add to the excitement, we'll have **RANDOM GIVEAWAYS EVERY DAY, ALL WEEK LONG, DURING EVERY LUNCH PERIOD!** You never know when you might be one of our lucky winners! It's just one more reason to join in the fun and enjoy school lunch this week!

A special THANK YOU to our amazing Madison-Plains Food Service staff for the hard work, creativity, and care they put into preparing meals for our students each day. You help keep our Golden Eagles fueled and ready to soar!

**Let the carnival fun begin!**

Go Eagles!

Today, October 2, is National Custodian Appreciation Day!

Today we want to recognize and thank the incredible custodial staff at Madison-Plains Local School District who work hard each and every day to keep our schools clean, safe, and welcoming for our students and staff.

So much of what our custodians do happens behind the scenes, often before the school day begins and long after others have gone home. From keeping our classrooms and hallways looking their best to preparing for events, tackling unexpected messes, and always being willing to lend a helping hand, their work makes a difference every single day.

Our custodians are an important part of the Madison-Plains family, and we are grateful for the pride and care they put into our schools.

THANK YOU to our MPLSD custodians for everything they do for our students, staff, and community.

Happy Custodian Appreciation Day! We appreciate you!
