Raffia Music Studio - Music school has an opening for a Voice/Piano Instructor in multiple genres, specifically Pop Music. This position is to begin in January 2024 in our Lomita, CA school.
This position provides a student with in-person one-on-one lessons that promote compassion and tolerance, emotional security, resourcefulness, and independent critical thinking while addressing the individual academic and emotional needs of each student. Must be able to work with students of all ages and experience levels.
Key Responsibilities Include:
• Provide a one-to-one teaching experience in the areas of music instrumentation (Vocal/Piano) instructor with a preference to teach a minimum of 2 instruments.
• A minimum of 2 years experience in music education from an accredited College or University is necessary. An Associates Degree is required for consideration and a Bachelor's Degree is preferred. Solid subject matter knowledge in a majority of these areas: music composition, production, and instrumentation (voice, keyboard).
• A plus: well-trained and grounded in the principles of vocals, singing, pianist, keyboard: Teaching credentials are a plus but are not mandatory. Experience with students with learning differences and ADHD is a plus as well as mentoring experience.
• The ideal candidate is outgoing, well organized, competent in basic computer skills, and is an individual who is eager to work in a highly dynamic, energetic school setting.
• Work 1 to 2 days a week for a part time position.

Help us welcome the newest member to the RMS teaching staff: Terry Wollman - Guitar and Ukulele Instructor.

Terry (born in Miami) is a Billboard charting American Jazz/ Pop musician. He is a music director, guitarist, producer, arranger, composer and podcast host currently living in Los Angeles, California. Wollman has released nine albums including Bimini (1988), Say Yes (1998), Baila (2000), Sleep Suite (2004), Buddha's Ear (2011), A Joyful Noise (2012), Silver Collection (2014), and Cassini’s Last Dance (2020). His latest album Surface (2023) features his current radio hits “What Is Hip?” and “Come On Urdell.”

From his critically acclaimed debut album “Bimini” to his 25 year retrospective “Silver Collection” to “Surface”... Wollman’s songs, arrangements and production continue to reach straight into the heart of each listener. With over 30 years in the music business, Terry has produced and performed with an array of artists including Melissa Manchester, Keb’ Mo’, Al Jarreau, Dave Koz, Billy Preston, Michael McDonald, Alan Bergman with Dave Grusin, Tony Bennett, Dick Van D**e and many more.
