Today, August 4th, 2026 was the final day to pick blueberries at Tuckaway for the 2026 season.

We asked for a donation of $5 to be applied to Tuckaway needs for the next year. Any berries picked were then free. Amazingly there were over 50 pounds picked.

We had over 50 folks, not counting the 15 children who came as well. One of our regulars mentioned as she was weighing her berries, “the children brought their unique special joy to the field this morning.” And it was true.

Most of the folks who came to pick had already been here multiple times, many had picked over 20 to 30 pounds prior. But today was not about how many they picked, it was quite simply to come show their love and loyalty to Tuckaway, and to share in this community.

Community living, working, worshipping, sharing in the joy of a small farm is what Tuckaway is all about. So, we thank you for bringing your love and special kind of joy to Tuckaway today.

Be sure to put June 1st, 2027 on your calendars so you can come spend many great days at Tuckaway!

Tomorrow is Tuckaway’s absolute last day to pick. We open at 7 am , must arrive before 11 and can pick to 12. There is a $5 donation entrance fee per person, (cash only please) to Tuckaway to pick. Please bring your own baskets. We will have bags to weigh(to determine how much was picked by weight, no charge)
We must close completely and promptly at 12 as I have an appt.
We still have Fresh Picked Frozen Berries for $12 a pound to order.

On Tuesday August 4th, 2026 at 7am Tuckaway will open until 12 for picking. We are asking for a $5 donation and whatever you pick is yours. Please bring your own buckets. We will furnish bags. This bucket and 8 more just like this bucket were picked this morning. One of the pickers is still out there and says the berries are soooo sweet. She picked 14 lbs total. The bucket shown was her first bucket.

When we started building Tuckaway we were purposeful when laying out the bushes. We wanted to have a nice long season. We planned: early, mid, mid month, late, etc, but until this year we only saw early and mid and some mid month. So Why? do I get surprised when the plans made come to fruition? Obviously God wants to bless us. In fact He promises in:

Jeremiah 20:11
“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.”

Proverbs 16:3:
Advises you to "commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans".

Proverbs 16:9:
States that "in their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps", showing humility when setting goals.”

Every time I walk the fields of Tuckaway, in the past few days, it puts a smile on my face. There are over a hundred bushes with some of the largest, sweetest berries.
Due to all the rain our UPick is closed. But, imagine with me…..

It’s the dead of winter and instead of opening that big bag of berries from who knows where, you can open one of our fresh picked, flash frozen bags of our Delicious, Tuckaway, Berries! It’s Smoothie Paradise!
