Hoy mi corazón está con Colombia. 🇨🇴

Cuando tu tierra tiembla, no importa cuántos kilómetros te separen de ella… algo también se mueve dentro de ti.

En mi ciudad natal Palmira, Cali, Pereira y tantas comunidades vivieron momentos de angustia e incertidumbre. Hoy mi oración está con cada familia, amigos, con quienes sintieron miedo y con todos los que están pendientes de sus seres queridos.

Como colombiana, llevo mi tierra conmigo dondequiera que voy. Y hoy, desde la distancia, me uno a mi país con oración, solidaridad y esperanza.

Que Dios proteja a Colombia, dé paz en medio de la incertidumbre y fortaleza a quienes más lo necesitan. 🙏🇨🇴

Colombia, no estás sola.

🇪🇨 La independencia comienza cuando alguien se atreve a imaginar un futuro diferente.

¿Sabías que el movimiento del 10 de agosto de 1809 en Quito convirtió a Ecuador en parte fundamental de los primeros movimientos independentistas de Hispanoamérica?

Más de dos siglos después, esa historia nos recuerda algo que trasciende fronteras:

Los grandes cambios comienzan con personas dispuestas a dar el primer paso.

Hoy celebramos no solamente una fecha histórica, sino la valentía, riqueza cultural, tradiciones y espíritu emprendedor del pueblo ecuatoriano.

What Saved Barnes & Noble Wasn't a Better Strategy.

It Was Better Leadership.

The image you're seeing isn't a memory.

It's a vision.

I haven't met James Daunt, and my book isn't on the shelves of Barnes & Noble—yet.

But I believe every meaningful achievement begins as a vision long before it becomes reality. This image reminds me to prepare today for the opportunities I'm praying for tomorrow.

Now, here's why James Daunt's leadership has inspired me...

A few years ago, Barnes & Noble looked like the next Blockbuster.

Store closures.
Declining sales.
Leadership turnover.
A company that seemed unable to compete in a digital world.

When James Daunt became CEO, many expected tighter controls, more rules, and increased oversight.

Instead...

He removed them.
He gave store managers the authority to decide which books to sell, how to merchandise their stores, and how to serve their local communities.

Most leaders believe more control creates better performance.

James believed something different.

Trust creates ownership.
Ownership creates accountability.
Accountability creates results.

His philosophy was remarkably simple:

"If you run a better bookstore, you're going to sell more books."

He didn't spend his time managing numbers.

He invested in developing people capable of producing better numbers.

That's the difference between managing a business and leading one.

Now let's reflect- this is step one in my framework.

Ask yourself:

Does my team need more supervision…
Or more trust?

Sometimes the biggest obstacle to growth isn't your people.

It's the environment you've created.

Leadership isn't about controlling people.

It's about creating the conditions where people can thrive.

Hoy cumplo 46 años.

Si pudiera hablar con la mujer que fui a los 26, le diría que no tenga tanta prisa. Que los sueños toman tiempo. Que habrá puertas que se cerrarán, otras que jamás imaginó se abrirán, y que Dios usará cada una de ellas para formar su carácter.

A los 46 entiendo que el éxito no se mide solo por lo que construyes, sino por las vidas que transformas.

Hoy valoro más mi paz que la perfección.
Más el propósito que la popularidad.
Más el impacto que los aplausos.

Estoy profundamente agradecida por cada experiencia, cada desafío, cada persona que ha caminado conmigo y por el privilegio de seguir sirviendo a través del liderazgo, los negocios y la fe.

No siento que estoy envejeciendo.

Siento que apenas estoy entrando en una de las temporadas más significativas de mi vida.

Gracias a Dios por 46 años de gracia, aprendizaje y nuevas oportunidades.

Lo mejor aún está por venir. 🤍

As I've been watching this World Soccer Tournament, I can't help but notice that some of the greatest lessons aren't found in the goals.

They're found in the teams competing without the same resources.

In the players who overcame obstacles no one saw.

In the people who showed up despite the odds being stacked against them.

Life and leadership work the same way.

Not everyone starts from the same place.
Not everyone receives the same opportunities.

But every one of us gets to decide what we do with what we have today.

The question isn't whether your journey looks like someone else's.

The question is:

What is your next right step?

There are moments you truly treasure, and this is one of them.

Being in the room celebrating an incredible, hardworking Latina with a laser-focused vision was inspiring. A woman who doesn’t let the “can’ts” define her, but instead chooses courage. Even when fear surrounds her, she knows where she’s going and makes it happen.

Photo load warning! Today was not an ordinary day! The FIFA World Cup Trophy is in Georgia! And my baby and me got a VIP tour to experience many of the incredible things and are going to be bringing during this massive event!
