Today our PCAP Chapter 1 students visited JA Finance Park. JA Finance Park is an immersive financial literacy program for middle and high school students, featuring classroom curriculum followed by a real-life simulation. Students receive a hypothetical persona (income, debt, family) and must build a balanced budget, covering housing, food, and utilities. It teaches practical skills.

Over the past few weeks, our PCAP students have been diving into the Columbian Exchange, and what an incredible journey it’s been! To wrap up the unit, scholars created their own menus featuring both New World and Old World ingredients, then brought their ideas to life by cooking and serving their dishes to the Academy staff!
This project-based learning experience beautifully blended English, math, and World History standards, allowing students to apply their learning in a meaningful, hands-on way. The pride on their faces as they served their meals and shared their knowledge was truly something special. We are so proud of their hard work, creativity, and growth!
