hunt and turned sand into bubbles at one of the
beaches.

Valley Junior High students learned about Utah State University while posing like future CEOs, interacting on the Quad, and learning about the joys of free treats on campus.

GEAR UP students toured the various trade options at Westpointe Workforce Training and Education Center. Students got to see welders in action and the machining lab in action.

Kennedy Junior High students and their families had a night where they could conduct science experiments and learn how to draw something new.

GEAR UP alums who attended West Lake Junior High School returned to their roots to collaborate with current eighth-grade students and share their college and career journeys. The alums volunteering at the event are in their second year of college or a trade school program.

During the event, alumni were paired with West Lake Junior High eighth-graders to play college- and career-themed versions of popular games such as “Would You Rather.” Peer Leaders also learned about the colleges attended by alums and created detailed posters highlighting key facts about their assigned institution.

Students also had the opportunity to explore additional post-secondary options by interacting with representatives from Granite Technical Institute, the military and apprentice programs.
