THIS FRIDAY, OCT 16: All ages are invited to "The Physics of Ballet" at Science Unwrapped at USU with dancer Becky Erickson and USU physicist Tonya Triplett at 7 pm in the Eccles Science Learning Center Emert Auditorium (ESLC 130). The gathering is FREE. Refreshments and hands-on learning activities follow the brief presentation. (See map in the first comment.)

Parking is FREE in the university parking terraces at 700 East 600 North, and at 850 East 700 North. (You do NOT need to use the USU mobile parking app.)

Come learn about the SCIENCE of BALLET!! THIS FRIDAY at 7pm at USU, one of our own teachers, Becky Erickson, will be discussing what physics and ballet have in common with Physicist Tonya Triplett as part of the Science Unwrapped program (a favorite of our director, Steffanie Casperson's family, for YEARS)! It should be an exciting learning experience about the interplay of science and dance that illustrates the beautiful complexity of each! Saturday, Oct. 24: "Pumpkin Toss," 11 am-2 pm, by the USU Student Chapter of the ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers) at Green Canyon High School, 300 East 2850 North (Wolf Pack Way) in North Logan. See magnificent, student-built trebuchets in action! The event is free. (Food trucks will have food available for purchase.)

Cache Valley youth (grades K-8) are encouraged to submit artwork about what makes Utah beautiful for the America250 Kids Art Contest, themed "America the Beautiful"! Those interested can pick up an entry form and full contest details at the Logan Library’s 1st-floor desk. Submissions will be accepted at the same desk from October 5 to October 19, and entries will be organized into grade categories for voting. . .
