๐ Welcome to our student spotlight! ๐
Hi! My name is Lennon, and Iโm 11 years old. I have been writing poetry for four years. I began by creating poems with my mom, weaving together favorite song lyrics and stories. Since then, writing has become a way for me to explore the world, use my imagination, and think about questions that do not always have easy answers.
I was inspired to write โThe Great Endโ by the idea that everythingโeven something as enormous and mysterious as a starโeventually comes to an end. I wanted to explore how endings can be sad but also beautiful, especially when something has one last burst of life or light to give before it disappears. Writing the poem changed the way I thought about endings and made me wonder whether sadness and happiness can sometimes exist together.
I have many interests. I read horror novels, learn American Sign Language, play board games with my family, and lead Dungeons & Dragons campaigns for my friends. I am also a triathlete and a black belt in karate.
I do not know whether writing will someday become my career, but I know it will remain part of my lifeโas a way to create, stay curious, and make sense of the world around me.
๐ Congratulations to Lennon on being published!
