USU Extension - Water Quality USU Water Quality Extension provides stewardship and hands-on learning opportunities for volunteers, teachers, and others throughout Utah.

We lead Utah Water Watch, the HAB Squad, Wings & Water, Pack It Out Utah, Streamside Science, and so much more! Utah Water Watch (UWW) is a water quality education and data collection program that seeks to increase awareness about the importance of water quality and promote stewardship of Utah’s aquatic resources. UWW is managed by USU Water Quality Extension in partnership with the Utah Division of Water Quality. It is a program that allows the public to cooperate with the UT DWQ in monitoring Utah’s lakes and streams. UWW is an extension of past volunteer monitoring efforts in Utah. For more than 10 years students and volunteers have monitored water quality through successful programs such as Utah Lakes Watch, Utah Stream Team, and Stream Side Science.

Leaks and excessive water use can put unnecessary strain on your septic system. Runing the dishwasher or loads of laundry back-to-back can overload your septic. To avoid this, spread out the usage throughout the week.
