The Marshall University BS/MD Program

This program allows students to complete the requirements for both the Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Medicine program in an accelerated seven-year program with:
*No MCAT required
*Guaranteed acceptance into medical school upon successful completion of program requirements
*Tuition waiver for the medical school portion of the program

Friendly reminder that society dues are due now. New inductees pay $15, current members pay $10 and senior cords are $15. You can pay Mrs. Rimmer or bring the money to the school, in an envelope with both Mrs. Rimmers name and SciNHS dues, and leave it at the front window. Checks are made payable to Logan High School.

Hello Everybody!

The induction letters for new members went out this week! Due to restrictions, we will not have a face to face induction this year. However, those new inductees will be recognized next year, provided we have an induction. They will receive their certificate and honors pin. The pin is given at their graduation.

It is also that time of year for dues. New inductees pay $15 dollar, which is cheaper this year because we won't have the opportunity to have a social with induction. CURRENT MEMBERS pay $10. Graduating seniors also pay an additional $15 for their cords. Cords are optional but I will say they are extremely nice. it is a double cord and tricolor. So, $25 total for seniors. Members will turn their money in to Mrs. Rimmer and they will receive a receipt. If you are virtual, the money should be dropped off at Logan High School at the front window. The money should be in an envelope with both the students name and Mrs. Rimmer's name. Checks should be made out to Logan High School. Dues are due by April 2nd.

This is a friendly remind that members of SciNHS are required to perform 10 hrs of community service per year. Your signed volunteer sheets have to be turned in to Mrs. Rimmer to receive credit.

This is a reminder for those participating in science quiz bowl Friday, 11/1. I need your heather gray t-shirts tomorrow, Monday, 10/28, so I can do the designs this week.

T-shirts are going to be made for Science Quiz Bowl participants. All students that want one need to bring a new, plain, heather gray t-shirt to Mrs. Rimmer by Monday, 10/28.

All students participating in Science Quiz Bowl are expected to report to Mrs. Rimmer's room after school for practice, starting tomorrow. Our competition is scheduled for November 1st, next Friday.

Hey folks! It's that time of year again. Marshall University has released the events for the 2020 WV Science Olympiad schedule.

The Science National Honor Society will be participating again this year and we should easily have two teams! Every year we have sent teams from Logan High, we have left campus with winners. My hope for this year is to bring home as many medals as possible. We are proud of you guys and I know we can do it again this year.

There will be a mandatory meeting next week, during lunch, to begin the event sign up process. Listen for the announcements. And remember, winners always prep and practice.
