We're thrilled to share that Caroline Lavoie has been awarded the 2026–27 Rome Prize and Italian Fellowship! 🎉
This prestigious fellowship supports innovative work across the arts and humanities, bringing artists and scholars together in Rome for 5–10 months of dedicated research, collaboration, and creative exploration. This year’s competition drew over 900 applicants with an acceptance rate of just 3%.
Caroline has demonstrated exemplary work, and we are so proud to see her recognized at this level. We can’t wait to see all she accomplishes in Rome next year. ✨

Congratulations to Lauren Johnson and Cameron Hill for being awarded the Senior Faculty Medal. 🏅
Each year, the LAEP faculty members nominate and vote on an outstanding senior student to be awarded the Senior Faculty Medal. This award goes to a student who has shown exceptional potential for success as a landscape architect or environmental planner through commitment, passion, and potential to add to the profession. This year we had a tie which meant both students were honored with the award.

Each year, LAEP faculty nominate two students for the national Olmsted Scholar competition. 🌿✨ Congratulations to our winners:
🏅Cameron Hill, Undergraduate USU Olmsted Scholar
🏅Eli Woodward, Graduate USU Olmsted Scholar
These students have demonstrated exceptional leadership potential and are using their ideas, influence, communication, and service to advance sustainable design and foster meaningful human and societal benefits.
Should they win at the national level, they’ll receive a $25,000 prize, but even if they don’t, they can forever say they were selected as a USU Olmsted Scholar, one of the highest honors in landscape architecture education. 🏅🌱
