Felician University Otaku Club

Felician University Otaku Club Otaku Club is Felician College's student org for international popular culture, particularly anime, but all scifi and fantasy film, comics, & games.

The first rule of nerd club is, please talk about nerd club! Founded in 2009, Otaku Club is a social organization for pursuing the study and appreciation of international popular culture, particularly cross-cultural interest in comics, film, animation, television, and video games. Japanese popular culture is of particular interest, as are the science fiction and fantasy genres in all media.

Is this week's manga, and I gotta say, I'm not a fan. How did the same search for acclaimed, excellent manga that produced Golden Kamuy and Planetes provide this? There are some lovely forest-scapes, giant mushrooms, and fantastic monsters. Chapter 2 has a cameo from a dragon that I would love to watch doing its laundry or reading the phone book. But please. The comic stars poor Nina's bosom, as much as it stars Iris, the academic apprentice. Granted, too, I didn't get past the second chapter, but that's because of the pointlessness of it. Maybe Nina-san gets past the nostalgia for wilderness... but maybe it just sucks.
