This week’s SAE Sunday is Kynlee Francis! This is her second year doing her SAE, but she has been riding horses since she was 9. This year, she is looking forward to teaching Jax new things and continuing to learn the process of training a green horse. She is also excited to hopefully jump bigger at horse shows!

This week’s SAE Sunday Spotlight is Preston Perez! This is his second year continuing his Poultry Production SAE. His favorite part about his SAE is when he “goes to the feed store for more feed and ends up coming home with new chickens.” This year, he is excited to learn more about poultry and hopefully add more species of poultry to his SAE!

Today we had members volunteer for the 30th Annual Ironstone Concours D’ Elegance Car Show! This event raises funds to support local ag education programs! Thank you Ironstone and CA FFA for always including us!

Emmanuel Mendez is a very kind member of our chapter who is always looking for some way to help others. He is a 4th year Ag student, has competed on the Grape Vine pruning CDE, Vet Science CDE, numerous LDEs, and has raised a rabbit for his SAE for the last 4 years. He attends various events and is always willing to lend a helping hand. Thank you for Growing as an FFA member this month!

Thank you to everyone who came out to our September FFA meeting this Tuesday! We had so much fun rotating through our different stations, including bracelet making, cup stacking, human knot, and paper crafts! We hope everyone had a great time, and we can’t wait to see you at our next meeting!

California FFA is building our pool of potential virtual judges for spring 2027, and we would love to have you join us!

We are looking for agriculture industry professionals, educators, alumni, supporters, and others who are interested in helping evaluate and recognize the outstanding work of California FFA members.

By completing our Judge Interest Form, you are simply letting us know that you may be interested in judging. There is no commitment at this time—we will contact you in the spring with information about available judging opportunities.

We are especially looking for agriculture industry professionals interested in helping judge our SAE Awards. Your knowledge and real-world experience can provide valuable perspective as we recognize students for their accomplishments.

Most judging opportunities will be held virtually, making it easy to participate from wherever you are!

Grape Mural- 1st place and Best Use of Theme Award!

Here are all of the projects we had displayed as well as our Chick Booth at the Lodi Grape Festival! All of the grapes used for the Grape Mural are grown on our school farm. Special shoutout to Emma Ulmer for creating our Grape Mural Design, Saylor Ruggaber for winning Best of Division in Featured Commodity, and Emma Penix for Best of Show for floral arrangements. We hope you all had the chance to take a look at our members hard work!

This week’s SAE spotlight is Aubrey Leonard. This is Aubrey’s second year doing Pet Sitting as an SAE. She works with common house pets as well as livestock and farm animals. Through her SAE, she has gained experience caring for different types of animals and learning how to meet their individual needs. This year, she’s excited to gain more hands-on experience with animals while continuing to build her skills in time management and communicating effectively with customers.
